Inside Graphic Novel Factory

What the app does — and what it doesn't.

October 14, 2026 · 2 min read

Every book on this site was put together with Graphic Novel Factory, a desktop app we built for our own work and are now preparing for other creators. Here's what it does — and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.

The problem it solves

A single graphic novel can mean hundreds of drawings: character sheets, backgrounds, panels, pages, cover versions. Keeping track of which version is final, which page needs a fix, and whether every page is the right size for print is a job in itself. Graphic Novel Factory takes on that job.

Keep every asset in one place

Characters, backgrounds, props, and scenes live in one organized library for each project. When you need the final version of a character's turnaround or the ballroom background, it's right there — not buried in a folder called "final_v3_REAL."

Arrange panels and pages

Lay panels out on the page, adjust gutters and borders, and move between single pages and two-page spreads to check the pacing. Rearranging a scene doesn't mean rebuilding files by hand.

Design pages and covers together

Interior pages and the cover are built in the same project, so the whole book stays consistent — the same characters, the same palette, the same trim size from page one to the back cover.

Export print-ready PDFs

When the book is done, the Factory exports high-resolution interior and cover PDFs prepared for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing — the right size, with bleed, ready to upload. (Our print specs guide explains what that involves.)

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't draw for you. You bring the art — drawn, painted, or licensed. The Factory is a production tool.
  • It doesn't publish for you. It exports the files; you upload them to KDP under your own account, so the book, the listing, and the royalties stay entirely yours. Our KDP guide walks you through that step.

When can I get it?

Graphic Novel Factory isn't available yet. We haven't announced pricing or system requirements. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when it's ready.
