Build an Author Brand
Be recognizable across every book, post and email.

Your "brand" isn't a logo. It's what readers remember about you: the kind of stories you tell, how your books look, and how you talk to people. A clear brand makes every book, post, and email build on the last one.
Know what you're about
Try to say it in one sentence: "Classic novels retold as full-color graphic novels for young readers." If you can say it simply, readers can repeat it to friends.
A consistent look
- Art style — readers should recognize your work in a feed or on a shelf.
- Book covers that look like they belong to a series: consistent title placement, type, and layout — see covers that sell.
- Colors and fonts used consistently across your website, social media, and newsletter.
A consistent voice
How do you sound? Warm and encouraging for families? Witty and literary for Austen fans? Practical for fellow creators? Pick a voice that's naturally yours and use it everywhere.
One name everywhere
Use the same name (or close to it) on Amazon, your website, and every social platform, so people can find you anywhere. Claim your name on platforms you might use later, even if you don't post there yet.
Your website is the hub
Social platforms change; your website and email list are yours. Make your site the place everything points to: all your books, previews, free resources, and a newsletter signup.
Show the person behind the books
Readers connect with people. Share why you love these stories, what you're working on, and what you've learned. A real photo and a short bio on your About page help.
Stay consistent over time
A brand is built by repetition. Every new book, post, and email that looks and sounds like you makes the next one easier to recognize.
