In the town of Namwon, Chunhyang, the daughter of a former entertainer, meets Yi Mongryong, the young son of the local magistrate, on a spring day by a swing. They secretly marry — then he is called away to the capital.
When a cruel new magistrate demands Chunhyang's hand, she refuses, whatever the cost. A story of faithfulness and justice that Koreans have retold for centuries.
